Giving yourself space

Every doctor sees up to four or five people a day who are feeling anxious or are having problems coping. One in four of us will have concerns with our mental wellbeing at some time in our lives and the figures are rising.

Finding your own space can make a difference; taking time out and having some ‘me time’. There is an Indian proverb that says that everyone is a house with four rooms – a physical, an emotional, a mental and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time, but unless we go into every room every day, even if only to keep it aired, we are not a complete person.
